This is something that I hear so often from clients, that they think it has to be really hard to improve their health! They think that they need to do everything all at once, right now, and that if they muck it up they have failed, and they are out!
I am here to tell you that it isn’t like that at all!
One thing that I tell my clients is that small steps equal big improvements. Let me elaborate on that. I want you to imagine you are at a lake and you have a small stone in your hand that you skim across the surface of the water. Now I want you to think of the ripple effect that small stone has. The ripples start off small, and then get bigger and bigger. Now, I would like you to associate this ripple effect with every small improvement you make to your health.
It might start with drinking an extra glass of water. Or walking around the back yard, or to the end of the driveway and back. It might start with swapping one cup of coffee with a herbal tea. Or making homemade pizzas instead of grabbing takeaway.
I want you to know that every small improvement, together with every other small improvement you make, all add up to bigger improvements.
You don’t need to do everything NOW!
You don’t need to ALWAYS be organised!
You don’t have to have it TOGETHER all the time!
You don’t have to cook perfect, healthy meals EVERY night!
Often clients don’t want to admit honestly what they have been eating, or how little water they actually drink, but remember that being aware of that is a step towards being able to improve it.
I too am human! I am not always perfect! I fall off the wagon sometimes too! Just remember, that it is completely ok to fall of the wagon …. what is important is that you get back on!
You are enough.
Try to do your best. When you know better, you can do better.
